About this place
A change from the familiar ketchup-rice version, Indian omurice wraps curry-flavoured pilaf in a thin omelette. Reports say many people come to Kurumi for this dish at lunchtime, and one diner noted that the restaurant was then serving only omurice. The rice is described as containing onion, shimeji mushrooms and chicken, among other ingredients, giving the filling plenty of texture. A curry-flavoured sauce is paired with tartare-style sauce in the centre, a combination distinctive to the restaurant. Some diners mix the sauces in partway through, while others spread them gradually to vary each bite. There are also reports that the red pickled daikon accompaniment, fukujinzuke, goes particularly well with the dish, adding another flavour to explore.
Many reports describe the portion as generous, and some diners found even the regular serving satisfying. The standard size is a good place to start; if you want more, you could ask about a larger portion. Lunch is served from 11:00 to 14:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Payment is cash only, so it is best to come prepared.
